Active Ageing Advocates (AAA) is Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine's first initiative to focus on preventive medicine and behavioural change established in 2021 — with the primary aim of guiding all older adults (50 and above) to translate their knowledge into sustainable healthy lifestyle habits.
As Singapore grapples with a rapidly ageing population, there has been a rise in the prevalence of chronic illnesses and social isolation among the elderly community. AAA hopes to encourage the cultivation of long-term habits which allow seniors to take greater ownership of their health, and age gracefully in their silver years.
What we do 🤔
Engaging Outings:
We organise outings to places of interest to foster intra- and inter-generational bonding. These outings not only serve as enjoyable excursions but also strengthen community ties and encourage social interaction between the elderly and our young volunteers!
Vision 📢
Our vision is to be at the forefront of providing sustainable, long-term health guidance for older adults in Singapore whilst enriching the lives of the seniors by enabling them to age actively in their golden years.
